Job Description

The Bostonian Hotel is an AAA Four Diamond boutique hotel located at Historic Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Conveniently located near the following MBTA stations, Aquarium, State, Haymarket, Park Street & Government Center train stations.

Job Summary:

Serve beverages and/or food in a friendly, courteous and professional manner that embraces, supports and implements the hotel shared values of hospitality, execution and profitability.

What you will be doing

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up for the bar on a daily basis. This include requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce.

  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality.

  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control as illustrated by the Millennium standards.

  • Inputs guest orders into micros and creates a check for each guest.

  • Coordinates with kitchen and coworkers for prompt food pick up.

  • Receives payment from guests for drinks served, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and insures vouchers are properly executed in order to balance all moneys.

  • Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items.

  • Check identification of customers in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.

  • Balance bank and cash receipts.

  • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment,work areas, and tables.

  • Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.

  • Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, in order to prepare cocktails and other drinks.

  • Serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar.

  • Order or requisition liquors and supplies

  • Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.

  • Assist in planning bar menus and cocktail lists.

  • Minimum 2 years bartending experience

  • TIP Certification required

  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights & weekends
