The Senior Data ArchitectManager is responsible for driving Putnam s Enterprise Data and Analytics strategy and execution for all data management activities within Digital Technology. Data Strategy defines how the Putnam Platform implements enterprise data, manages reference databases, and exposes APIs access to subsequent technologies, applications, and to end users for their consumption. In this role, the individual will strive to ensure that the organization is functioning to enable sustainable business growth and profitability by capturing efficiencies through improved data access, by eliminating duplicate data, and by eliminating multiple overlapping subject area databases that exist today. The Senior Data ArchitectManager will develop enterprise data management roadmaps by working closely with business partners across Retail, Institutional, Investments, and Operations. He or she will establish a working governance model to help support the next generation of data management systems at Putnam. He or she is a champion for global data management and data quality across the enterprise. The Senior Data ArchitectManager leads a team of DBAs and Data Engineers to advance the implementation of the strategic cloud data architecture vision while also supporting tactical initiatives such as the Oracle upgrade project, investmentoperationdistributionCorporate System initiatives. Primary Responsibilities Candidate must have extensive experience with implementing, migrating and managing data platforms in an enterprise cloud computing environment Candidate will demonstrate the ability to work with business partners and stakeholders to build consensus. Candidate will lead Digital Technology s Data group in business and technical conversations related to Master Data Management, Data warehousing, and serving application needs. Candidate must have subject matter expertise with the following Cloud Service Providers Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure Generate, present, and develop ideas for progressing the data environment, such as common frameworks or common methodologies, which the Digital Technology division will then use. Possess technical curiosity to explore new features in existing tools and technologies as well as explore new methodologies, features and tools that can be adopted by the Digital Technology division. Share, instruct, and coach the Digital Technology division on data topics such as best practices, design methodologies, and query optimization. Design and build, with the Data Architecture team, the complete re-envisioning of enterprise data model. Create master data sources and the key resolution engine as well as the supporting processes to ensure data quality. Organize, liaison, and work with other development teams to onboard applications and processes onto the new data architecture (RDS, Snowflake, OracleAWS, virtual database,etc.). Desire to learn and become the subject matter expert on tools and technologies. Act as a liaison to the various development teams and other data team members to market and proliferate the data architecture doctrines, principles and standards. Help devise and implement pragmatic data governance principles and methodology. Job Requirements Undergraduate degree in finance, technology discipline or equivalent experience. Masters a plus. Extensive Cloud database experience is required Extensive experience in major RDBMS such as OracleSQL server is required Have experience in the financial services industry, preferably buy-side is preferred Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to manage a team of DBA and Data Engineers to achieve the tasks. Capable of managing multiple tasks with tight time deadlines.
